Project is a state-of-art use of big data (public procurement, ownership structure) to provide insight into hiding beneficiaries of public procurement. We will link two datasets (procurement, ownership) in 10+ chosen countries to uncover companies with hidden beneficiaries, or with ties to risky destinations (such as Bermudas, Curacao etc.). We will disseminate the results to partner NGOs, journalists and policy makers.
Beyond our own pilot, this has not been systematically done on international level. We aim to demonstrate, that such approach is feasible - which might bring vital input for policy debate, as well as concrete insight to individual public buyers, who might face the increased risks of corruption and conflict of interest.
