The project aims to create a multi-sectoral public procurement observatory, that enables civil society organizations, academia, research journalist, and citizens in general, to monitor and evaluate government procurement, as well as to identify risks of corruption and improvement opportunities.
The observatory will aim to produce proposals that can contribute to a more transparent, accountable and efficient procurement system, by analyzing data, identifying patterns, presenting key findings and recommendations, and securing follow up activities for the adoptions of the recommendations.
The multi-sectoral group will produce special reports focused on procurement areas with a high risk of corruption based on objective indicators (quantitative and qualitative), develop activities that enable key findings and recommendations to be disseminated in friendly formats, and carry out an strategic plan to advocate for the implementation of the reforms proposed.
Also, the observatory will encourage knowledge sharing on procurement, at a national and international level.
