Smart communication to increase buy-in and traction of climate policies

 

Please consider the following questions for this topic:

 

a. How can we use communication tools to increase acceptance and support for hard but necessary policy changes? For example, how can we best communicate a carbon tax or elimination of fuel subsidies if they raise prices at the gas station?


b. How can we mobilize for climate-friendly economic and financial policies? Can we use social media campaigns or other innovative communication techniques to bring climate and environmental policies closer to people, for example, by explaining the economic effects on their local communities?


c. How can we sensitize decision makers on the significant socio-economic value of ecosystems? How can we achieve better understanding of the political economy impacts of climate policies, including which policies are more or less accepted by the public?
